What is QR to Wallet?

QR to Wallet turns your social media profile link into an Apple Wallet pass with a scannable QR code. Instead of opening an app and searching for your profile at networking events, you just show the pass from your lock screen. Anyone can scan it with their phone camera to instantly open your LinkedIn, GitHub, Instagram, X, or WhatsApp profile.

How do I add my LinkedIn to Apple Wallet?

Open QR to Wallet on your iPhone, paste your LinkedIn profile URL (e.g. linkedin.com/in/yourname), and tap Generate Pass. You'll see a preview of the pass with your QR code. Tap Add to Apple Wallet and it's saved. The whole process takes about 30 seconds. This works the same way for GitHub, Instagram, X, and WhatsApp.

Which social media platforms are supported?

Do I need to download an app or create an account?

No. QR to Wallet works entirely in your browser — no app download, no account, no login. Just open the website, paste your URL, and add the pass to your Wallet.

How does the other person scan my QR code?

They open their Camera app (iPhone or Android), point it at your QR code, and tap the link banner that appears. Your social profile opens instantly in their browser. No special app is needed — any modern smartphone camera recognizes QR codes automatically.

How do I share my LinkedIn at a conference?

Double-click the side button on your iPhone to open Wallet from the lock screen. Your QR to Wallet pass appears immediately — hold it up for the other person to scan. No need to unlock your phone, open the LinkedIn app, or search for someone's name. It works even without an internet connection on your end.

How do I remove a pass from Apple Wallet?

Open the Wallet app from your home screen, tap the pass, tap the three dots in the top-right corner, scroll down and tap Remove Pass. Important: the remove option only appears when you open Wallet from the home screen, not from the lock screen.

Do QR to Wallet passes expire?

No. Your pass has no expiration date and stays in your Apple Wallet indefinitely. As long as your social media profile URL remains valid, the QR code will keep working.

What is a .pkpass file?

A .pkpass file is Apple's standard format for Wallet passes. It's a signed, compressed bundle that contains your QR code, colors, text, and layout. When you open a .pkpass file on an iPhone, iOS automatically offers to add it to your Wallet app. QR to Wallet generates this file for you.

Can I create multiple passes for different platforms?

Yes. You can generate a separate pass for each platform — LinkedIn, GitHub, Instagram, X, and WhatsApp. Each pass has its own branded colors and QR code. All passes live side by side in your Wallet app.

How much does it cost?

QR to Wallet is completely free. No hidden fees, no account required.

We don't store any personal data. Your social media URL is sent to our server only to generate the pass — it's not saved, logged, or shared with anyone. Your profile URL is used only to generate the pass and is not stored in our database.

Does QR to Wallet work on Android?

Not yet. QR to Wallet currently generates Apple Wallet (.pkpass) files, which only work on iPhones. Google Wallet support may be added in the future.

Can people get my personal info from my QR code?

No. The QR code contains only your social media profile URL — nothing else. Anyone who scans it lands on the same public profile page that's already visible when they type your username into a browser. No name, location, email, or contact details are embedded in the QR code beyond what is already public on your profile.

What happens if I change my LinkedIn URL or username?

Your existing pass stops working for the old URL. The QR code is a fixed link to the URL you used when you generated the pass. If you later change your LinkedIn vanity URL or your username on another platform, the QR code will either show a page not found error or resolve to a different profile. The fix is straightforward: generate a new pass with your updated URL, then delete the old one from Wallet.

Where do people use QR to Wallet?

Why not just share a screenshot of a QR code, or use NFC?

Both have real drawbacks in a networking context. A screenshot requires you to unlock your phone, find the image in Photos, and keep the screen on — there is no quick way to pull it up from the lock screen. NFC and proximity sharing tools like Apple's NameDrop are built for sharing contact cards (name, phone, email), not direct links to social media profiles — the person still has to search for you manually afterward. NameDrop also only works between two iPhones both running iOS 17 or later. A QR code in Wallet opens your exact profile URL instantly, with any smartphone camera, no app or OS version required on either side.

Acceptable use

You may only submit URLs to your own social media profiles on supported platforms (LinkedIn, GitHub, X, Instagram, WhatsApp). You agree not to use the Service to generate passes containing malicious, fraudulent, or infringing content. We reserve the right to refuse service at our discretion.

Pricing

QR to Wallet is free. If this changes in the future, it will be clearly communicated on this page before any charges apply.

Refunds and cancellations

QR to Wallet is free — there is nothing to refund. If you experience a technical issue, contact us at privacy@qrtowallet.com and we'll help resolve it.

Intellectual property

You retain ownership of the URLs and content you submit. We retain all rights to the Service, its code, and design. The generated passes are for your personal, non-commercial use. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. Pass generation depends on third-party services (Apple Wallet, PassSlot) that are outside our control. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of or inability to use the Service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the specific pass in question.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Swiss law. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Zurich, Switzerland, unless mandatory consumer protection laws provide otherwise.
